S\u00fcs bitkisi olarak da kullan\u0131l\u0131r. Estetik g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fcn yan\u0131 s\u0131ra bodur, sa\u011flam ve heybetli, ayr\u0131ca \u00e7\u00fcr\u00fcmeye de son derece dayan\u0131kl\u0131 olan bu a\u011fa\u00e7 uzun \u00f6m\u00fcrl\u00fcd\u00fcr. Bir\u00e7ok \u00e7e\u015fidi olan zeytinin \u00f6ncelikle ya\u011f\u0131 \u00e7ok k\u0131ymetlidir ve ticari anlamda talep zemini de olduk\u00e7a geni\u015f olan \u00f6nemli bir \u00fcr\u00fcnd\u00fcr. Nitekim d\u00fcnyada \u00fcretilen zeytinlerin y\u00fczde 90 gibi b\u00fcy\u00fck bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc ya\u011f \u00fcretiminde kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Yemeklere e\u015fsiz bir lezzet ve sa\u011fl\u0131k katan zeytinya\u011f\u0131ndan elde edilen sabun, \u015fampuan ve du\u015f jelleri yaln\u0131zca do\u011fal de\u011fil, ayn\u0131 zamanda \u00e7ok yararl\u0131d\u0131r.
